The space is entered through a large, custom, stainless steel and glass front door leading to the retail showroom. The dark blue floor is honed Portuguese limestone and is surrounded by Venetian plaster walls and ceilings. A brushed stainless steel base anchors the showroom walls, permitting full enjoyment of the eleven foot ceiling height. Revealed maple frames set off cleanly paneled maple interior doors and soft curving stainless steel door handles.
To the left of the front door, above the seating area, the tower soars a full two stories to a coned plaster ceiling. The wall behind the seating group is faced with frosted glass mounted on custom, stainless steel bolts above a built-in rift cut maple credenza. Clear glass shelves float lightly on aircraft cables in-front of the frosted glass wall surface.
To the right are floor-mounted stainless steel racks mimicking the geometry of the curved walls, while three pivoting full height stain-ebonises maple panel displays with custom, stainless steel knobs. The backdrop to the panels is a dramatic rift cut maple that provides a sharp contrast to the ebonized panel finish. Along this wall, several doors display sample garments and provide access to storage closets directly behind. The front wall of the showroom alternates full height windows with frosted glass panels. The panels provide a dramatic opportunity to diffuse colored lighting for special events or changing seasons, and serve as a stunning background for the clothes displayed on stainless steel racks suspended from the ceiling.
The dressing and fitting rooms are lined in neutral fabric wall panels and accented with custom light fixtures mounted on the covered plaster ceilings. Three way lighted mirrors occupy one corner of each room. The fittings are completed by built in seating.
The custom powder room is dominated by the strong geometry of the radius wall displaying the glass and rift cut maple lavatory cabinet and the stainless steel lavatory. The distinctive finishes of the showroom continue in this space and are completed with black and stainless fixtures.
The back of the house is divided into two areas: the production workroom and the design team studios. The production workroom houses the production staff, the fabric storage area, employee powder room and kitchen. Scored concrete and stained floors are enhanced by the soft lighting making this area ample for the delicate work. The kitchen is fully equipped and has stainless steel countertops with white laminate storage cabinets located above and below.
The design team studios are lined with wall panel systems. The fabric is a puckered, tackable material and is a soft, neutral color. The carpet is woven loop nylon in soft beige. The glowing subtle white walls provide a suitable background for color selection and design visualization.
